Country Background Research

This is research corroborating your client's asylum claim.  I combine research into governmental, non-governmental, journalistic, academic, and anthropological publications.  I will highlight relevant passages and pages, collate pages into a thematic format and create a table of contents.  This painstaking, detailed work is targeted to the specifics of your client's claim.  The focused nature of the research will save on excessive filings with the asylum office and immigration court, but be thorough enough to support the details of your client's situation.

Telephonic and Video Conferencing

Together, we will build a strategy, lay out all the important categories and details of your client's asylum claim and map out a timeline based on your clients Master Call and EOIR hearing dates.  I will communicate regularly to keep you updated on the progress of research.  You can request weekly telephonic of video meetings to go over the case's progress.

Flexibility

Hiring an independent contractor for project-based research allows you to hire someone on a case-by-case basis.  You have the benefit of hiring someone with extensive professional experience, without the responsibilities of bringing on a new employee.  Hiring someone to take on the time-consuming work of doing country background research leaves you, the attorney, free to take on more clients.  Because immigration is federal work, I also have the flexibility of contracting with clients anywhere in the country.
